Associate Solicitor - Employment & Immigration

Carey specialises in employment tribunal litigation, including claims for unfair, constructive or wrongful dismissal, as well as unlawful deductions from wages, discrimination claims and dispute resolution. Advising clients on the full range of employment law issues, Carey is also experienced in drafting contracts of employment and the full range of policies and procedures. Carey also provides advice in relation to protecting confidential information and trade secrets. A particular highlight in Carey’s career was the reinstatement of her client, including full compensation for losses, following their successful unfair dismissal claim against a national company.

Key Experience

Carey’s relevant experience includes:

  • providing practical employment law advice on a range of issues, including underpayment of holiday pay, managing underperformance, addressing complicated grievances and instigating long-term sickness absence procedures
  • advising an employer client in relation to a complicated high-profile conduct dismissal
  • providing employment law advice to Court of Protection appointed professional deputies in recruiting and managing support workers for individuals suffering from brain injuries or mental impairments
  • successfully representing a union-backed claimant in her claims against a national company for sexual harassment and unfair dismissal resulting in a substantial settlement in the client’s favour
