New recruits bolster Thrings’ Family law team

Kate Barber and Emily Gulliver join firm’s office in Romsey.

Thrings has made two new appointments in the growing Family team at the firm’s Romsey office. The first is Kate Barber, who joins the team as a senior associate. Kate is a highly regarded family lawyer in Hampshire and arrives from Moore Barlow.

She has a growing reputation in acting for mid-to-high-net-worth clients on all family issues, including complex financial issues arising on separation. Her constructive approach to helping clients through family breakdown makes her equally regarded for resolving child arrangements.

Thrings already has a strong reputation for the advice it offers clients considering pre-nuptial agreements and Kate joins Sally Pike, who heads the Family team in Romsey, in being an expert in this area of law.

Kate is also a respected collaborative family lawyer and is committed to helping clients resolve matters through no court options like the collaborative process. The firm has also appointed Emily Gulliver as a trainee legal executive. Emily, also formerly of Moore Barlow, specialises in assisting separating couples with reaching financial settlements, and has in-depth experience in private child arrangements.

Kate and Emily join an established and growing team based at Romsey which has earned a reputation as one of the leading family law teams in Hampshire since the office was opened in 2018, and is recognised in legal directories Chambers and Partners and Legal 500.

Kate and Emily will also work with colleagues in the Family teams at the firm’s other offices in Bristol, Bath, London and Swindon.

Sally Pike said: “I’m delighted to welcome Emily and Kate, who will both be an asset to the firm in Romsey as we continue to grow the Family team. I have always been committed to making the team an engaging and great environment to work in and we have exciting times ahead.”
