Thrings advises on successful sale of science and tech fit-out specialists to global provider

Thrings corporate law advises on successful sale

Bulb Interiors, interior fit-out and refurbishment specialists to the science and technology sector, has become part of Unispace Life Sciences, in a deal advised by Thrings Solicitors; acting for Bulb.

Founded in 2005, Oxford and Reading-based Bulb has become a UK leader in the provision of research, innovation and manufacturing facility planning and construction, developing a niche expertise through the use of its own scientists to enhance the design and fit out of high-tech laboratories for its clients.

Unispace Group, a global leader in workplace strategy, design, project management and construction, has a particularly strong reputation within the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors and is set to strengthen its service offering and specialisation within the UK & Ireland markets through its acquisition of Bulb.

Acting on behalf of Bulb’s shareholders and Managing Directors Derek Jones and Paul Horsburgh, Thrings’ Corporate lawyers, led by Partner Simon Hore and supported by Associate Solicitor Joe Watkins and Trainee Solicitor Noah Ofulue, advised on all matters of the sale of shares. This included carrying out due diligence on the deal and share purchase agreement, whilst corporate financial advice for the sale was provided by Entrepreneurs Hub.

Bulb Interiors Managing Directors Derek Jones and Paul Horsburgh said: “We are delighted with how positive this sale process has been and want to thank Thrings, in particular Simon and his team, for their tireless work to get this over the line. Having not experienced such a sale process, it was difficult to know what to expect, however, we felt well supported and advised throughout.

“We are excited to join a fast-growing, global business such as Unispace Life Sciences; our joined-up team of experts will be able to offer clients a much wider range of capabilities and services. We look forward to beginning our new journey and continuing to deliver inspiring, sustainable, work environments that address the challenges today’s life sciences businesses are facing.”

Simon Hore, Partner in the Thrings Corporate team, added: “Bulb becoming part of the Unispace family is a deal that is going to be of major benefit to both organisations and it has been very rewarding to have supported Derek and Paul in this successful sale following their years of hard work. We have enjoyed acting for them and wish them the very best for the future.”
