Four new solicitor appointments as Thrings builds for the future

Joe Watkins, Pascale Devlin, Steven Rice and Aroa Merino Munoz will work with colleagues in all five of Thrings’ offices in Bristol, Swindon, Romsey, Bath and London after securing positions with the law firm.

In Bristol, Joe strengthens Thrings’ South West Company Commercial team after successfully completing a structured, two-year training contract with the firm, while Aroa joins Thrings’ Property Litigation team.

Thrings’ Company Commercial team in Swindon welcomes former chartered legal executive Steven Rice, with Pascale joining the Family team at the firm’s recently-opened offices on the Broadlands estate in Romsey.

Joe said: “Thrings really takes the time to invest in its trainees, offering them regular exposure to complex, high-level transactions and opportunities to participate in business development activities. The huge amount of support and encouragement we receive from senior staff has also given us the confidence to form and build solid professional relationships with clients and colleagues.”

Pascale said: “I am thrilled to be joining Thrings’ Family team at the firm’s new offices in Romsey. The team continues to attract high quality work, and I am looking forward to engaging with clients and providing them with pragmatic solutions during what can be a particularly emotional period of their lives.”

Thrings offers trainees the opportunity to gain experience of contentious and non-contentious work in different practice areas during the course of four six-month seats. They receive ongoing professional and personal support and guidance from senior team members through the firm’s ‘buddy’ system, and are encouraged to organise and participate in social events and charity days.

History also shows that Thrings remains a place where people are able to progress and develop their careers, as illustrated by senior partner, Jonathan Payne, and corporate partners, Kate Westbrook and John Davies, all of whom joined the firm as trainees.

Simon Holdsworth, managing partner at Thrings, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Joe, Pascale, Steven and Aroa. The appointments mark a continuation of Thrings’ ongoing strategy for investing in staff and demonstrate the firm’s commitment to providing clients with access to talented legal specialists.

“Thrings is a vibrant law firm which prides itself on being able to offer solicitors high levels of responsibility, opportunities to work with a diverse client base and excellent career prospects. All four new solicitors are passionate, hard-working and driven, and we wish them all every success as they add strength and depth to their respective teams.”
