Founded in Bristol in 1972, Tileflair’s new 4,000sq.ft. Oxford store is the first to be opened since 2015 and marks a new milestone in the company’s expansion strategy, which will see a further store open this year.
With the business supplying the trade, contract and retail sectors, the Oxford premises has been designed to offer a superior customer experience with an impressive selection of room settings and tile displays.
Thrings is a long-standing legal adviser to the business on a number of commercial matters, including the management of the company’s portfolio of properties.
Leading on the commercial property side for Thrings is partner Robert Barnes, who recently negotiated two new leases for the business. Working with the firm’s construction team, advice was also provided on tenant warranties and protections covering building and construction works.
Matthew Johnson, managing director at Tileflair, said: “There’s a reason why Tileflair continues to employ Thrings for legal support during this period of strategic growth. The commercial property team, led by Robert, is pragmatic and thorough, as well as reassuringly approachable.
“Thrings worked diligently to get things done quickly and their expertise served to draw our attention to considerations we might have otherwise overlooked. I feel confident that, with their help, our interests have been protected during all stages of our properties’ lifecycles.”
Robert Barnes said: “It’s fantastic to see a local business like Tileflair continue to grow and make such a mark on their market. The level of expansion they’re undergoing involves spinning a lot of plates. We’re pleased to continue to be a reassuring and guiding force when it comes to securing the company’s commercial property (and other) interests during such a strategic time for the business.”
Tileflair’s new stores are the latest transactions handled by Thrings, following advice on the purchase of KDP Tiles, led by Corporate partner, Mike Tomlin. Thrings has also advised the business on commercial T&Cs, data protection, distance-selling, employment and more.
