Congratulations to Wiltshire’s thriving tech community

Compered by Anita Jaynes, owner of The Business Exchange publications, the second ever Techies Awards 2019 showcased a colourful mixture of tech talent in the region, picked from more than 80 entries across 12 categories.

Impressed by the variety and quality of submissions, the awards judges and sponsors were proud to announce the winners at the sold-out awards ceremony:

Best Tech Security - Cardwave

Driven by Data - Infinite Group

Social Impact - Groop

Cutting IT Award - Render

Cloud Innovation of the Year - Appsbroker

Best Tech Support Service - Blue Frontier

Future Tech Superstar - Daniel Curran, Infinity Nation

Tech Team of the Year - Gel Studios

Best User Experience - Ojo Solutions

Most Innovative Tech Solution - Kids Covered

Using Tech to Transform Business - Evo-Soft

Flying the Flag for Swindon & Wiltshire - Appsbroker

Thanking sponsors, judges and participating businesses for making the event a resounding success, Anita said: “The truth is everyone was a winner this year for doing their bit to put our tech sector on the map.”

Kate Westbrook, an expert in tech-business contracts, awards judge and head of commercial at Thrings said: “Thrings is very pleased to have supported the Techies Awards 2019. There is so much for Swindon and Wiltshire’s vibrant and thriving tech community to shout about, and these awards provide a platform to do just that. The abundance of talent and expertise here has been reflected in the large number of high-quality applications.

“With the strapline ‘expect extraordinary’, it’s no surprise that Cloud Innovation of the Year winner Appsbroker is punching well above its weight - for example in developing and delivering solutions on Google Cloud Platform for major brands such as Santander and Jaguar Land Rover. Beyond its many successes, I would like to congratulate the business for passionately and proactively contributing to making Wiltshire a tech hub.”

Further coverage of the awards will follow in a Techies Special edition of The Business Exchange’s Swindon & Wiltshire magazine, out in June.
