Futureproofing cities discussed at Bristol roundtable event

Thrings solicitors Bristol round table meeting

How cities like Bristol can be shaped to meet the needs of the future was the topic of a roundtable discussion hosted by Thrings this week.

The event, organised by business news outlet The Business Desk at the Thrings office in Bristol, saw representatives from across the city’s development industry come together to focus on the driving forces and factors behind the ongoing renaissance of a city and what can be done to make it an even more attractive opportunity for investors, employers and potential influencers of the future.

Natalia Sokolov, Partner in the Thrings Construction Team and lead for Clean Energy, said: “It was great to have such a productive discussion on Bristol’s future with colleagues from across the property and development sectors. As the Bristol region continues to rise in popularity as a place to live, work and visit, we need to make sure that innovation is at the heart of shaping the city’s future, including tackling its challenges with achieving net zero, creating communities and supporting a strong local economy.”

Rob Barnes, Head of the Commercial Property Team in Thrings’ Bristol office, added: “Having such a wide attendance, from developers and real estate firms to engineers and investors, made for an insightful discussion and it was great to see the level of aspiration the professional world has for the city with everyone having come away with something new to consider in terms of how we can collectively help Bristol to grow.”

Mike Ribbeck, Editor of The Business Desk South West and chair of the roundtable, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with Thrings for this event and want to thank them for hosting us at their offices in Bristol. It was a very successful event with everyone actively sharing their thoughts on how Bristol could and should evolve to meet the needs of future generations and I look forward to working with the firm on further events in the future.”
