Partner - Commercial Dispute Resolution Team and Head of Recoveries

Ramona’s central role at Thrings is to provide quality recovery litigation for all the team’s clients. She heads up the Debt and Asset Recoveries Team in Swindon, acting for a variety of clients from SMEs to multinationals. Ramona takes great pride in understanding the business, culture and priorities of every client, seeking to resolve disputes by alternative methods such as mediation.

Through her commercial approach to problem-solving Ramona is able to offer clear and focused advice, resulting in quick, cost-effective resolutions. She has particular expertise dealing with corporate and contract disputes as well as defended debt actions.

Ramona represents corporate clients in defence liability claims including defence of product and personal injury claims. She also provides Financial Service Litigation, defending professional negligence and compliance claims, advising in relation to FOS actions and insurance-related disputes.

Key Experience

Ramona’s relevant experience includes:

  • advising a global commercial vehicle manufacturer on all aspects of contract termination, enforcement and product liability issues
  • assisting in-house counsel of a financial services business on breach of warranty claims, defending mis-selling and misconduct complaints and advising on regulatory aspects
  • advising a Danish-based corporation in relation to claims by its UK distribution network
  • negotiating a multi-million pound settlement for a commercial client in relation to a negligence claim against its former property advisors
  • assisting the UK collections arm of a global credit insurer to recover trade debt across the financial spectrum, providing cost-efficient, accurate and commercially-effective litigation
  • representing numerous professional services businesses to recover unpaid invoices including risk reviews, in-house training and contract assessment
