Naomi is a partner in the Thrings commercial property team specialising in the development of land, advising developers and registered providers on the acquisition and disposal of land for development, including sales to registered providers and private rented sector investors by way of golden brick and turnkey agreements.  

During her career in development, Naomi has dealt with wide ranging issues impacting landowners and developers, including conditional contracts, overage deeds, infrastructure agreements and defective title issues.

She has also established herself in advising the likes of institutional lenders, investors and alternative funders, PLC utility and waste companies, and renewable energy developers on a wide range of matters.

  • Acting for a national housebuilder on an option to purchase land of a site for around 200 residential units
  • Advising a national housebuilder on the disposal of more than 150 residential affordable housing units to a registered provider by way of golden brick and development agreements, conditional on planning permission
  • Advising a national housebuilder on the sale of units to a registered provider, conditional on the re-routing and variation of easements with various statutory bodies
  • Acting for a national housebuilder on the acquisition of land from a local authority to facilitate drainage and highway connections to a large development site
  • Acting for a national housebuilder on the disposal of undeveloped plots to another developer, forming part of a wider development, including addressing provisions in the sale contract for infrastructure works
  • Acting for a developer on the disposal of plots of land for commercial/retail purposes, conditional on planning permission
  • Acting for a registered provider on the acquisition and disposal of affordable housing units including advising on arrangements for the management and disposal of open space
  • Acting for an institutional lender on the grant of security over a factory owned by a leading UK manufacturing company
  • Acting for an alternative funder on the grant of security over a residential development site
  • Multiple instructions advising solar developers on option agreements for numerous solar park sites, including the negotiation of options for cable easements and substation sites with third party landowners and statutory undertakers together with the involvement of international funders and planning advisers
  • Carrying out due diligence work on behalf of PLC utility and waste companies in connection with the disposal of significant land assets and the grant of various easements relating to their apparatus including extensive title investigations and negotiations with house builders and local authorities
  • Providing property support to corporate teams on the acquisition and disposal of businesses with interests in solar projects, care homes and veterinary practices
