Anita Jaynes, owner of The Business Exchange and founder of awards, said: “The Techies 2018 was fantastic, it truly recognised this important sector and its impact on our local economy.

“The inaugural awards achieved everything I set out to achieve and more. We attracted award entries from every town and city in Wiltshire, over 120 people attended on awards night, our techies connected and made new meaningful relationships and whole teams turned out to celebrate their successes.”

The awards are a great fit for Thrings, which provides legal advice to a number of tech firms across the country. From SMEs to large multi-nationals, Thrings has developed the expertise needed to meet the legal needs of this growing sector.

As proud sponsor of the Cloud Innovation of the Year category, the firm’s commercial contracts partner, Kate Westbrook, will be joining The Techies panel of judges.

Kate Westbrook said: “Cloud innovation has transformed the way in which businesses and organisations operate. The shift from on-premises to cloud has been, and will continue to be, a major factor in driving new opportunities and efficiencies.

“We’re seeing the cloud facilitate more automation and even artificial intelligence, which is revolutionising the way we do things. This is an exciting area of tech which Thrings is keen to be part of through its continued legal support to businesses on a journey to becoming more effective and profitable through the adoption or development of technological solutions.”

Entries can be submitted until 8 April for the 2019 awards. The ceremony will take place on Thursday May 9, at Hartham Park, Corsham.
