Thrings has welcomed the selection of one of its planning experts to the regional committee of an influential networking society in the planning sector.
With significant experience of planning and environmental law from roles in both private practice and local government, and expertise covering a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, Senior Associate Lorraine Neve joins the committee for Women in Planning (WiP)’s South West branch, which relaunched last year.
WiP is an independent network that has been championing a diverse, equitable and inclusive planning industry since 2012. The organisation has been focused on increasing the visibility and profile of women in the planning world, connecting the industry’s future leaders.
As one of the new members of the committee, Lorraine will be supporting the organisation in organising and hosting its events throughout the year, aimed at supporting the professional development of its members.
Lorraine Neve, Senior Associate in the Thrings Planning and Environment team and newly appointed Women in Planning South West committee member, said: “Networks like Women in Planning have played a significant role in giving women the confidence and the tools they need to progress, develop their careers and to help increase diversity in the planning sector.
“Being able to support this cause by taking a place on its committee is a very exciting prospect and I look forward to working with my peers from across the sector. I’ve found WiP to be a very engaging and welcoming organisation and I would very much encourage those interested in joining to get in touch.”
