Fifty years ago, a couple bought a section of farmland from a relative’s estate which had been in their family for more than a century.
A year after acquiring the land, they gifted it to their two children.
The couple has recently been notified that the solicitors who held the deeds have not only mislaid them but that the land has also never been legally registered.
