The government’s “work from home if you can” guidance ends in the UK today, as the “Plan B” Covid restrictions end. With this in mind, employers may be looking forward to welcoming their teams back into the workplace.
However, there are a number of challenges and issues that may need to be overcome before working life can get close to being back to normal.
The Employment team at Thrings answers some of the frequently asked questions here:
How should I prepare for a return to the office?
Although the restrictions are being lifted, Covid-19 hasn’t gone away. In fact, as the Omicron variant is highly transmissible and mask-wearing rules are eased, you may find it more likely that staff are concerned about becoming infected.
Every business should have up-to-date Covid risk assessment and these will vary from workplace to workplace. Before, or at least upon a return to the workplace, you should make sure that employees are advised of your Covid policies and are aware of measures such as social distancing, screens, hand sanitising and hand washing facilities and ventilation.
