60 seconds with Emma Page, private property

Emma studied law to fund her dreams of owning a horse – and found a new passion in life.

What do you do?

I’m a solicitor in the Private Property team in Bath working closely with Alice Altounyan and Anna Christie on sale and purchase transactions for first-time buyers, investors and anyone in between as well as transfers of equity and re-mortgages.

Why did you decide to follow the career you are in now?

When I was 16, I loved horse riding and really wanted a horse of own. My dad suggested looking at a career in law to fund my horse-riding dream. Turns out I found law really interesting and pursued it through university to now. I still don’t have a horse, though.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In a normal world I thoroughly enjoy a trip to the pub with friends, especially if it has a sunny garden. I’ve lived in Bristol for nine years now and always enjoy discovering new pubs or restaurants.

Name one thing that helps make your day better

Sunny weather. I am an absolute sun baby and will soak it up as much as I can. There’s no better way to start a day than drinking a coffee outside with the sun beaming down. It doesn’t happen very often but when it does, it’s great.

What is the best place you have ever travelled to and why?

The Maasai Mara in Kenya – it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited. I was also very lucky to see some incredible animals/sights on safari including a herd of lions with their cubs on the hunt for wildebeest.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

Anywhere by the beach! My family live in West Sussex so a trip home is always combined with a trip to the beach. Brighton Beach is one of our favourites.

Describe yourself in three words.

Motivated. Passionate. Caring.
