Around 170 legal professionals from Hampshire firms stepped out after office hours to take on a 10km route around the city on Tuesday evening (17 September), starting at Southampton’s Combined Court and finishing at College Chambers, Carlton Crescent.

The walk raised more than £6,500 – a new high for the annual event – including £1,000 in sponsorship from Thrings. It will go to the London Legal Support Trust, which supports the provision of free specialist legal advice through law centres, advice agencies and Citizens Advice bureaux in the region.

Team member Sam Longmore, a paralegal in Thrings’ Romsey office, said: “The Legal Walk is a well-supported event and we were pleased to be helping agencies which give free legal advice to people who would otherwise struggle to afford it.

“We would like to thank all the passers-by who gave us encouragement on the way round, and all those who sponsored and donated.”
