Partner - Corporate
Karen is a partner in the London Corporate team. She specialises in corporate and corporate finance work, dealing with mergers and acquisitions, MBOs, joint ventures, investments, reorganisations and acquisition finance.
Karen advises a diverse list of corporate entities and has acted as general counsel to a portfolio of companies for many years. She also represents the interests of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs and investors based in the United Kingdom and overseas, often working closely with their tax advisors.
Alongside her corporate practice Karen advises a number of charities and not-for-profit organisations. She is a member of the Charity Law Association and a director of the White City Theatre Project CIC.
Key Experience
Karen’s relevant experience includes:
- leading the team in advising a high-profile designer swimwear and resort wear brand on an £8m investment from a private equity fund
- advising on the reorganisation of an award-winning London media group
- advising the sellers of a substantial investment company holding central London property assets involving complex tax and landlord and tenant issues
- advising a cutting-edge biotechnology start up including negotiations with US counter party and related commercial agreements
- advising on the complex amalgamation of two large grant-making charities (one incorporated under Royal Charter and the other by Act of Parliament) to form a charity with combined charitable assets in excess of £70m, including negotiations with the Charity Commission, the Privy Council and many stakeholders
