Food and drink focus for inaugural Bristol Property Pop-ups

South West property professionals gathered at CARGO in Wapping Wharf for the launch of Bristol Property Pop-ups, a joint initiative by Thrings and Bristol Business News designed to showcase new and innovative property developments in the city.

Members of Thrings’ South West Commercial Property team – including partners Warren Reid, Colin Stratton, Eric Livingston, Steve Schofield and Ben Tarrant – joined leading figures from the regional property industry and Bristol Business News editor Robert Buckland at Bristol Cider Shop for the first of the quarterly events.

During the event, guests were treated to a cider-tasting session by Pete Snowman, owner of Bristol Cider Shop, who revealed his reasons for setting up shop at CARGO.

Louis Arron from property development, management and investment business Umberslade also discussed the concept behind CARGO and its huge success before leading guests on a tour of Wapping Wharf.

Since opening in 2016, CARGO at Wapping Wharf has become Bristol’s independent food and drink hub. It is home to a number of artisan food and drink outlets, each of which operate from converted shipping containers.

Colin Stratton, who is also head of Thrings’ office in Bristol, said: “We were very pleased to welcome professionals from across the city’s property sector to the inaugural Bristol Property Pop-ups event.

“It was a privilege to have the opportunity to go behind the scenes at CARGO and CARGO2, better understand the concept behind this exciting and innovative development, and learn more about the range of independent retailers that are based there.”

Further Bristol Property Pop-ups events – held at new, innovative and unusual locations across the city – are currently being planned. For more information, please contact Thrings’ director of marketing, Lizzie Heffer, or another member of Thrings’ Commercial Property team.
