Cautious optimism for office supply in the South West

Thrings’ Ben Jones explains how the availability of office space is continuing to pose challenges for big cities in the region.

 

For many years, the South West office market has been challenged by a lack of supply, particularly in its larger cities.

In Bristol, demand is not being met despite developments such as Aurora and other longer term projects providing a glimmer of hope. Bath, meanwhile, has been defined by a lack of Grade A modern office space as a result of the growing trend of converting listed office buildings to residential use.

Insider recently sought the views of some of the region’s leading property specialists, including Ben Jones, commercial property partner and head of Thrings’ Bath office.
