THRINGS MEETS… RYAN O’HARA, CO-FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF C4S SEARCH

C4S Search is a recruitment firm specialising in finding and placing technical staff across the IT, digital and engineering sectors. On its way to doubling its operations in Wiltshire, C4S will be looking to grow into its neighbouring counties - Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Berkshire - in the coming years.

“While we don’t want to be the biggest in the world, we do want to be the best. Our mission is to “grow great” and to change lives,” Ryan explained.

Honda’s decision to leave Wiltshire has presented an opportunity for the technical recruitment business, which has already offered to help the manufacturing giant’s workforce. Ryan commented: “The news is devastating for the local economy (and market generally), but there will be new opportunities - and we’ve already offered our support. Some people will have worked at Honda their whole lives and won’t have done an interview for 30 years. Since production isn’t shutting down for a couple of years, we’ve reached out - offering to set up workshops on things like interview techniques and drafting CVs.”

Thrings came to meet C4S search through its sponsorship of the Wiltshire Business Awards, entered into on more than one occasion by the business. Last year, C4S won in both the Small Business of the Year and the Learning and Development Employer of the Year categories.

“Winning really gave our staff something to cheer about, something to be proud of. It’s one thing for me and [co-founder and director] Ben to say we’ve got a great business, but to have it recognised externally was a special moment. The extra credibility it gave us was really powerful,” added Ryan.
