Clients, referrers and professional colleagues gathered at St Andrews House last night to mark the official opening of Thrings’ new London offices.

Partners and members of Thrings’ legal and business services teams welcomed guests to the new offices - located in the City of London – following the firm’s recent decision to commit to the legal market in the capital for another 10 years.

Among those in attendance were Thrings managing partner, Simon Holdsworth, head of London office, Robert Sear, and partners and staff from the firm’s Corporate, Employment, Real Estate and Private Client teams.

Also present were two of Thrings’ newest London-based partners, commercial property expert, Fionnuala Nolan, and construction specialist, Michael Chilton.

Guests networked over drinks and canapés before taking part in a Q&A discussion led by entrepreneur Nick Telson from award-winning software company DesignMyNight, the UK’s fastest-growing nightlife discovery and booking website.

During an entertaining address, Nick spoke about his time as a marketer at L'Oréal, explained how he and his friend Andrew Webster had come up with the idea of DesignMyNight, and described his company’s journey to becoming a top 50 UK start-up which regularly attracts six million website visitors every month.

At the conclusion of the Q&A, guests toured Thrings’ new 5,640 sq ft premises, which place the firm directly in the heart of the City’s legal and financial districts. The new offices are also helping the firm strengthen its growing international focus by providing commercial facilities for international clients wishing to invest in the UK and UK clients with business interests overseas.

Robert Sear said: “It is now just over ten years since Thrings opened in London, during which time we have advised clients from offices in Victoria and Pall Mall. Our move to St Andrews House is once again a reflection of the firm’s ongoing growth, direction of travel and focus on providing legal advice to UK and international clients in modern, first-class commercial premises.

“Businesses in the UK will continue to face challenges in the future, not only due to the UK’s departure from the EU on 19 March next year, but also around changing workplace patterns, technology and AI. Tonight gives Thrings the opportunity to thank those people who have helped drive the growth of the firm, as well as restate our commitment to helping clients meet and overcome the challenges that lie ahead.”

Since setting up in London in 2007, Thrings has undergone significant growth as a result of advising clients including House of Fraser, United Overseas Bank (UOB), Matchesfashion.com, Corneliani, Handelsbanken, Bremont Watch Company, Arbuthnot Latham & Co., and Kathryn Sargent.
