Experts to tackle tax and wealth planning at PFS seminar

Research and development tax credits, Enterprise Investment Schemes, venture capital trusts and an in-depth discussion about the benefits and potential pitfalls of companies owning property will also feature on a packed programme at the Chartered Connections seminar, which takes place at the Paragon offices of leading regional law firm, Thrings, on Thursday (23 February).

The morning event is being attended by independent financial advisers, investment managers, accountants, wealth managers and life insurance and pensions company experts from across the South West.

Featuring on a high-profile speaker panel are Gavin Roberts, partner at Maxwells Chartered Accountants, Kimberley George, pension transfer specialist and director at Integrated Paraplanning Solutions, and Michael Westbrook, partner and tax planning and trusts specialist at Thrings.

The event is being organised by the Personal Finance Society (PFS), the not-for-profit, member-led body for the financial advisory profession in the UK. Part of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Group, PFS currently has more than 36,000 members.

Three Thrings partners - personal tax, trusts and probate expert Awen Mellick, private property solicitor Bill Thomas, and Rachel Brooks, a private client specialist with a focus on agriculture, landed estates and tax planning – will also be taking their places on the 50-strong delegate list.
