A shared vision for a greener, cleaner and more sustainable Bristol was at the heart of Thrings’ latest seminar, with a panel discussion on what a collaborative planned approach to attract inward investment balanced with environmental impact could do for the city.
More than 60 professionals from across the city’s real estate, development, finance, professional and business sectors came together at We the Curious for the event exploring a range of topics from what Net Zero means for an individual and what a better Bristol would actually look like.
Chaired by renowned Bristol-based TV and radio presenter Steve le Fevre, the panel featured:
Among the key themes to come out of the discussion was the challenge in finding a balance between environmental impact whilst driving growth and investment in the regional economy. This comes as the city looks to deliver on its ever-mounting national housing targets with supporting infrastructure, whilst delivering and maintaining nature-based initiatives that contribute towards mitigating the impact of climate change.
Natalia Sokolov, Thrings’ Lead for Clean Energy, said: “Bristol has a long-held commitment to sustainability and boasts a wide array of businesses and organisations that are equally as committed to achieving that goal. This was evident today from the excellent discussion between our panel and audience that explored what the city is currently doing and how this could adapt and evolve to future proof for generations to come.
“I want to thank our brilliant panel members for giving up their time for this event, and for sharing their knowledge, expertise and views today and to everyone in attendance for demonstrating why our city is at the forefront of efforts to realise our sustainable future."
