Thrings eyes long-term growth with Hampshire office relocation

Thrings will move into newly-refurbished offices at Stuart Court on the Broadlands estate in Romsey on 9 April after outgrowing its existing premises at International House on the Southampton International Business Park.

The new 7,776 sq ft premises comprise an open plan office, meeting rooms with state-of-the-art communication facilities, a theatre style meeting room, break-out areas, quiet rooms and a sizeable space for hosting events and entertaining clients.

At more than nine times the size of the firm’s offices when it launched in Hampshire in 2016, the new premises at Stuart Court will support Thrings’ future expansion plans in the county over the next 10 years.

The move also signifies the firm’s long-term commitment to clients in Hampshire, many of whom require support and legal advice in the closely-related practice areas of agriculture, agribusiness, landed estates and private affairs.

Thrings’ Hampshire offering is headed by four partners: private client expert Rachel Brooks, rural and agriculture specialist Mark Charter, commercial and corporate lawyer Mary Chant, and Sally Pike, who has practised family law for more than 20 years. Since 2016, its headcount in the county has trebled, with more recruitment planned.

Simon Holdsworth, managing partner of Thrings, said: “Eighteen months ago we made the decision to expand our UK footprint beyond our existing offices in London, Bristol, Bath and Swindon. During this period, we have continued to build links within the farming and landed estates communities, enhanced our offering to private clients and strengthened our commercial team to provide clients with an integrated legal service instead of one which separates commercial, agriculture and private affairs.

“Thrings has never been afraid to do things differently, and rather than relocate to an anonymous out-of-town business park, we have opted for premises which we believe will support our future growth plans, provide clients with city-standard commercial facilities in a rural setting and offer staff a new and exciting working environment.

“The move to Stuart Court comes at a very busy time for Thrings, with the firm also signing a long-term lease on new commercial premises in the heart of London’s legal and financial districts. Having recently secured a number of new client wins, and with growing workforces in both Hampshire and London, we are very pleased to be restating our commitment to clients in the south of England.”

Refurbishment of Thrings’ new Hampshire premises was carried out by office design and fit-out specialists, Bulb Interiors.
